My friend Terri was visited by police to request a walk through of her home due to a neighbor calling in suspected drug activity; her boyfriend answers the door, and was arrested due to prior warrant of some kind; Terri refused to sign the walk through; police searched her, found approx. 3 grams of methamphetamine in her pocket; handcuffed her and kept her handcuffed for 1 1\2 hours until police got a judge to issue a search warrant. She has been in jail 3-4 weeks, no family to help, no prior arrests, no prior police record. The state in question is IOWA, and the question is whether or not the search and arrest was legal and shouldn't she be able to get pre-trial release? Thank you!
