What is the name of your state? CA and NY
See the states alone makes these divorce things so complicated.
I have a friend that was married in NY so he can go to NY a request a divorce but he has lived here in California for almost 10 years. Now his wife still lives in NY. They haven't spoken nor seen each other in that time. He wants to divorce her but this whole separation agreement drama is making him crazy. They never did one before he left NY. Does he have to wait another 6 months to a year just to finally get divorced. Isn't 10 years long enough?

Why is this so complicated. he can file for divorce in CA if he has lived there for 10 years. Property may have to be settled in CA if wife has never lived in CA and the property is in NY.
