What is the name of your state? Texas
I'm in a dilema, I had moved out of the country and a friend of mine took over the payments for the car, but she got involved in accident that she is not at fault. The problem is neither she or I had the vechile insured but the other person involved in the accident does have full coverage. What can I do the car has been impounded and I am not sure how to proceed? The front of my car got damaged.

The fact the car was uninsured does not relieve the other party from liability for the damages. A claim can still be filed against that person's auto insurance coverage. But both you and the driver of the vehicle will face the consequences of the vehicle not being insured, possible license suspension, mandatory SR22 filing, tickets with large fines, etc.

From TX Department of Insurance:
Texas law provides severe penalties for violating the state´s financial responsibility laws. A first conviction will result in a fine between $175 and $350. Subsequent convictions could result in fines of $350 to $1,000, suspension of your driver´s license, and impoundment of your automobile.
