I live in New York,and was being sued by family member in
Maryland.Case was later dismissed by the plaintiff.Now they
are telling me "If I don't send them money they will re-
file the case.Can they do this.This is a case of he said
she said.

My response:

Depending on the Statute of Limitations of the particular Cause(s) of Action, and whether they dismissed the case with, or without, prejudice will determine whether or not they can, in fact, refile.

You can also countersue that family member for Malicious Prosecution and / or Abuse of Process - - again, depending upon how the case was "dismissed".
