My 17 year old son is in juvenile detention in Florida. Two police officers removed him from his cell, read him his rights to waive counsel, asked if he objected to being tape recorded and was interrogated about an issue he was not in detention for. I am being charged $40/day while he is incarcerated and responsisble for his behaviour until he is 18-is there a double standard that allows the police to treat him as a responsible party and allow him to waive his rights to have counsel or a parent present at the interrogation? Sounds like somethings fishy here...any advice from anybody? Thanx!
