speeding

What is the name of your state? NC

I was on US 49 and got pulled by a state trooper. According to him i was going 79 in a 55. I didnt receive a fine but a court date in January. What can i do and what might happen? Would it be possible to take the driving class? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
