We've been open for business since June of '05. We received our Certificate of Occupancy in May. The local township recently hired a new engineer who discovered our light poles are too high for local zoning. Apparently, the previous engineer didn't enforce the local zoning requirements on the light poles and approved all previous plans. Can the township require me to get a zoning variance after already issuing a Certificate of Occupancy? If so, who is responsible for paying the zoning fees?
