What is the name of your state? Georgia
I am currently a college freshman at Georgia College & State University (i am 18 yrs old) and was recently arrested for minor in possession of alcohol (BAC .094) in my dorms. The police report also shows that I had marijuana residue and a homemade smoking device on my desk, however I was not arrested for drug charges. I am on probation for another minor in possesion of alcohol, but have not contacted my probation officer by recommendation of my lawyer because he wants to talk to the solicitor to avoid me serving jailtime for probation violation. I also have used my first offender right in my first case. I am very worried because I am being told so many things about what could happen to me, including up to a month in jail. I am just wondering what the average sentence is for people in my situation and whether I should be worried about going to jail for some time and what the best course of action should be
Thank you

You were granted probation in order for you to learn from your experience and show that you can be trusted as a mature responsible adult. Obviously that opportunity was wasted on you. Count on your first probation being revoked and your facing new sentencing with your 'new' charge.
With any luck at all, you will be put in jail for a while... and get hit with a large fine.
Then the lesson might get through that idiot skull of yours.

I'm pretty sure you know where I'll go with this one. Sorry about your situation, and please refer to the other thread (you know which one) for some of that "life advice CRAP".

Good luck to you.

blah

i am not saying that it is not good advice. i am simply saying that i will hear enough of that from my parents, lawyer, judge, probation officer, friends, extended family, and others. i came to this forum for LEGAL advice. i know the areas in my lifestyle that need to change, but that is really not the issue being discussed. i honestly doubt that advice from an anonymous source that is simply trashtalking a persons decisions, that have obviously landed them in their predicament in the first place, is going to change anything, and that that should be left up to the individual and the people close to them in their lives. telling me that my decisions are stupid is a good idea, but legal advice concerning the topic at hand might be more helpful, considering this forum was created for that (or that was the impression i was under when i posted here).
