How long does WC. pay?

How long does WC pay on your medical? I have been doctoring for almost 2 yrs.I have had 1 IME so far.Just started going to a chiropracter.(back problems and pinched nerve in back)
And does everyone get a settlement from WC. and what is the settlement for?
