MY mother is on SSDI and someone has told her they (SS) WILL review her case every 3 years to determine if she still is disabled. Is this true? thanks N

SSDI (& also SSI) - the general rules are: If the original disabling condition is EXPECTED to improve, they will review on or about the date they expect improvement; or if medical improvement is POSSIBLE, your case will be reviewed at least once every three years; or if medical improvement is NOT expected, your case will be reviewed every 6-7 years. They will also review your case if they receive information that you have improved.
