I'm a non-US citizen, but am a U.S. resident alien and live in the state of WA. My father is Italian and lives there. What are the inheritance tax laws in relation to an inheritance from Europe? When I inherit his assets will I have to pay any US taxes? If so, what % of the total inheritance? Is there a threshold on the amount of inheritance received by a beneficiary before being required to pay any taxes?
