My husband is a non citizen, legal resident whose parents still live in Bermuda. They would like to give us a gift of approx $200,000.00 for a down payment on the purchase a house in Pennsylvania. This would be a portion of my husbands future inheritance from them. We would like to know what the tax expectations would be if we accept this from them at this time. Thank you.

It is a gift, therefore not taxable. It is however necessary to report any foreign gifts exceeding 100,000. Therefore it will be necessary to report the gift. You would report that using form 3520.
