Hello,

My wife's employer had to issue corrected W2s as they failed to enter Information for Box 12a in regards to my wife's 401(k) contributions. In Box 13 of the original and reissued document have Retirement Plan Marked.

I used tax act to file my return. According to the program there is no change in refund amount after I enter the 401(k) information.

I want to correct this if it has to be prior to filing my state.

If it doesn't change anything, then no, you are not required to amend the federal return. However, if it would change something on the state return, then amending the federal return as well would be wise.
