What is the name of your state? TX

Can a married person making minimum wage with no dependants owe taxes?

Its highly unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

Hor many hours were worked per week? were any taxes withheld? Is the person filing jointly with their spouse? Is there any non-w2 income? You have to run the numbers to be sure.

I'm assuming 40 hours per week, filing jointly with spouse but spouse has no income. There is no non-W2 income.

It depends on what the state's minimum wage rate is. A married couple, filing jointly and with no dependents would not owe any income tax on the first 16900.00 of their income (federal only)
