I purchased a used Honda 8 months ago - it was my first car . I researched the reputation of Honda and found they make pretty reliable cars so decided NOT to purchase the extended warranty. I took the 90 day warranty that came with the car. Now, 8 months later, I have had to replace both axles on the car and now my transmission is slipping. I took the car to a local shop that specializes in transmissions and was told it is hard to believe there were no problems with it before now and I have a severe transmissions problem. I contacted the dealership I purchased the car from and the same car salesman tried to sell me a new car where my monthly payments would be increased by 300.00! He mentioned he may be able to get my current car fixed for half price. This was 3 days ago. I have called him at least 3 times a day to find out what I need to do but now he is stating there is nothing he can do except work with the finance company on the new car. I spoke with his manager who advised me it is out of his hands since I elected not to purchase the extended warranty on the vehicle. I advised them both, it seems like their service department would have noticed a transmission problem during inspection BEFORE the car was put out on the lot for sale. I don't know what my rights are as a consumer but I certainly know a transmission slipping after only 8 months is not normal. Where do I start or who do I need to talk to ??????
