This last year i lost a job in oregon and moved to california. i currently work for a company in CA. do i need to file taxes in both states for the income i made. and is the income made in each state taxable in the other?

Yes, you will need to file part year returns for each state. Those can be tricky. I would recommend using a local tax professional this year.
