What is the name of your state? MO

I have taken care of an elderly gentlemen for years. Now they are saying I have to liquiddate all assets. I was told that he could give a money gift w/out a problem. I just don't know how much. Also can I sign his life insurance over to the funeral home so I can be sure he is taken care of. He doesn't have much but I want to know that I can take care of and get for him after I spend down assets. I just feel this is very unfair to him. He owes more on his trailer that it is worth and I don't even know what to do with it. Thank You
