I gave three weeks written notice to the manager of the restaurant/bar where I worked. He assured me I would be allowed to work out my notice. The owner found my written resignation and immediately fired me. I have asked for payment of the remainder of my notice. The owner had no right to fire me after his agent, the manager, told me it would be no problem to work out my notice. Is that correct and do I have a right to sue for what I would have earned in small claims court?
