What is the name of your state? MARYLAND

I was arrested for drug possesion last night. Two Howard County cops saw me drive by where they were pulled over and followed me because the light that illuminates my rear license plate was out. I passed them just inside the Howard County boarder but by the time they turned on their lights I had driven into Baltimore County. This occured pretty much right on the county line and happened within one minute. They pulled me over and made the arrest in Baltimore County, although they were Howard County cops. Is there any case against them doing this or are they allowed to follow me (they did see that my light was out while I was still in Howard) and make an arrest even though they were outside of their county?

I spoke with the Comissioner who said something along the lines that they weren't supposed to be outside of Howard County.
