GA--What are the laws if a girl of 14 is raped by a boy of 14 or 15 in the state of GA?
Are they both considered minors?

Georgia's statutory rape laws are different than many states. A person commits the offense of statutory rape when he or she engages in sexual intercourse with any person under the age of 16 who is not his/her spouse, provided no conviction shall be had for this offense on unsupported testimony of the victim.

If the victim is 14 or 15 and the person convicted is no more than 3 years older than the victim, such person shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, with a maximum sentence of 1 year.

Sorry. Yes, I was reading the question as statutory rape. Someone who is convicted of rape in Georgia faces death, imprisonment for life, or imprisonment for not less than 25 years nor more than life, followed by probation for life. I saw the ages and thought statutory rape, sex between minors.

if a girl of 14 is raped by a boy of 14 or 15 (or any age, for that matter), the boy may or may not be tried as an adult depending on the circumstances. the girl will not get in any trouble at all if the sex was not consensual.
