What is the name of your state? Minnesota

I'm 22 and I've been living with my parents, who have been claiming my 3 year old daughter as a dependent on taxes so they could put her on their insurance. My boyfriend of two years and I are closing on a house in september, he is not the biological father, but we're wondering if he can claim her as a dependent? Obviously my parents wouldn't be anymore, and she has no contact with her biological father.

No. The fact that she will be your qualifying child disqualfies him.

The only way he could claim her is if you get married, or he adopts her, or if he goes to court & has her "placed" in his home as a fosterchild (which gives him certain parental/guardian rights).

BTW, your parents will be able to claim her (& you if you're a student) for 2007 as well, since she has already lived with them for over 6 months. You should coordinate your 2007 return with them to get the most money.
