What is the name of your state? North carolina. New Rv in driveway last fri ready to go to lake. New truck in driveway ready to be used with RV. Neighbor hit truck and it cannot be driven. Rented pick up to haul rv and so my husband can use pick up for his job. Insurance co does not want to pay for truck, just a car. Also have a trip planned for Labor Day weekend with RV and cannot tow RV with a car. What can we do?What is the name of your state?

What can we do?
Pay the difference between the car rental and truck rental, unless specified by the policy, insurance companies only need to supply basic replacement transportation, not the same type of vehicle. In the future, change your policy to reflect exact replacement rental vehicle as part of your policy, it will cost you more but you will get the type of vehicle you are currently driving.

Is this your insurance or the at fault party? The at fault insurance technically only has to pay for basic transportation, but if not having a similar rental car is going to interfere with your activities, they should cover the extra. Talk to the supervisor.

If it's the other person's insurance, then your own policy is irrelevant. And not all companies offer that kind of rental coverage to their insureds.
