Following my mother's disabling stroke, I have been declared successor trustee for her simple inter vivos trust. However, she has as many assets in JTWROS as she does in the trust. In filing her income tax returns, do I have to file an IRS 1040 and a 1041 return? That is, do I file both an income tax return for her trust, and an income tax return for personal income?

Her state of residence is Illinois.

Thank you for your help.

Tony
