i live in new york state. my wife and i have been separated for three years. there is no divorce or separation agreement.she lives with my 18 yr old daughter and i have voluntarily been giving her $1200/mo to be able to maintain our house until my daughter is 21. although my wife has actually written the checks for the mortgage and property taxes, am i entitled to claim half the deductions for the property taxes and mortgage interest. she says no.please advise thanx
