My husband is a hand therapist (occupational therapy) and after working for the company for 5 years has suffered from carpal tunnel and trigger finger. He had the surgery 2 years ago for the carpal tunnel and although still has pain and numbness they say they can not do anything else for him. His surgeon is now advising him to have trigger finger release surgery done. He has been told that he should look for other employment by the attending doctors. I agree. Is his company responsible for paying a reimbursement for tuition/expenses to cover re-schooling for another line of work? If so, does it have to relate to that company for a job in a different position there?
