What is the name of your state? Wi

Is there amount of time allowed that when you must file your income taxes?
My daughter's father hasn't filed his income taxes for years
He owes back support, out standing hospital bill from her birth
Even tho it would benefit him lowering his rears,he states why
file if i can't get anything back?? Isn't this against the law?

Yes, it's against the law...

And why would anyone want him to lower his rears?

Because if he did file his taxes yearly the state and Fed would keep
his amount of refunds, and apply it to the rears he owes back support and hosp. bill
Why would anyone not file if it,would help lower his outstanding bills?
What is the amount yearly that requires, you must file income taxes for one person?

Assuming a person has a refund coming, they have three years from the due date of the return, including extensions, to file in order to get the refund. If he never files, the IRS may not do anything because it is to their advantage.

BTW, it is "arrears" - not "rears".
