Credit Card co held my payment

The credit card company did not post my payment until after the due date then charged me a late fee and interest on that fee. They have done this in the past and removed the charge the next day but I still paid interest on the charge for the time it was on the account. Is this legal?

Pay earlier. They probably have built into the agreement time to post. It's likely a rip-off but legal.
