I was in married Mexico in April of 2000, my wife still lives in Mexico, but visits me on weekends, and I provide her support. Can I claim her as a dependent? By the way, she has a Social Security number that was given to her when she was previously married to an American citizen, but they separated and divorced and she returned to Mexico. She will be moving here in April of this year and we will start her residency petition again. Immigration told me I can use her SS number, but can I claim her?
