What is the name of your state? Ney Jersey

I've got a primary residence in NJ and a vacation home in NJ. If I move from my primary residence to my vacation home and make that my primary residence for 2 years can I then sell both places tax free taking advantage of the 2 out of 5 rule?

You can sell both tax free, but the sales would have to occur at least 2 years apart. You may only exclude gains from selling your "primary residence" once every 730 days. The trick is to sell one home, move into the other home, then sell it later.
