Worker comp claim taking to long

I have a claim for carpul tunnel, filed in 9/00 Washington State. I need surgery and the employer is selfinsured. I am being laid off 2/2/01 because department is closeing. I cannot find a new job until surgery is done. I am getting the run around by this company. I recently learned I am not the only employee with this condition having trouble with this company. What is my legal recourse? I only want my surgery done.
