What is the name of your state? FL

We have a customer (located in NY) who is refusing to pay on a contract he signed with us. In the contract he agreed to FL venue. We intend to hire a process server in NY to serve him with the FL Small Claims papers. The NY Dept of State lists an address in its records for "DOS Process," but we know in fact this is an old address. Can we just serve him at his current address or do we have to serve at the DOS address first to show we followed the proper channels? What is the name of your state?

Serve him at the address at which he is located. If you know that your address is more current and accurate than the one listed, use it. The objective is to properly give notice, and there are no "proper channels" beyond that.
