My father died in Ca 12/21/00. As eldest of 5 adult children we have looked for reference to his lawyer unsuccessfully. We know he had established a trust and had a will and appointed one of us executor of his estate, but are unable to proceed with his broker or selling his home, car, etc. What can we do now?

If you know where he did his banking, ask the trust department of that bank if they know anything, or ask the bank if you can review his checking/savings account statements for the past year to get some clues.

The trustee is supposed to get in touch with the family, but that is only IF he knows about your father's death.

Have you all gone through all of his personal papers to try to find the will? Try calling the local attorneys in his city to see if they know anything.

SINCERELY,
