What is the name of your state? Missouri

I am my brother's only living heir. No wife, kids, etc.

His state of residence is Missouri however he has 2 parcel of land in California which is approximately worth less than $35,000. I hired a lawyer for the proceedings here in Missouri but he can't tell me what to do with the land in CA.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

The land in CA have to be probated in CA (ancillary probate). You need to hire an attorney in CA to do this.
