Help with recovering a laptop

I loaned a laptop to a friend of mine (I have the original receipts showing I purchased it and had it sent to her). At the time she still lived with her mom at home. She moved out to go to college in Seattle since. The laptop is still at her home in Texas with her mom. Repeated emails and phone calls from me and my friend to her mom asking to for me come by and pick up the laptop are unanswered.

How do I recover my property?
