Hello,

My name is Jay, I live in Orlando, FL. I moved out of my previous apartment on Dec4 after the lease expired and my ex roomate refunded $260 on the day I vacated and wrote on a piece of paper that he would refund the rest ($472) in two weeks. Although he lost his job in january he has severance for 4 months. Its been over two months and he has evaded my phone calls and when I met him and asked that I'd appreciate if he writes me a check he tried to call the cops on me. I have decided to sue him. Can you please suggest who I need to talk to about my case and if I have a strong case in hand.
Thanks.

Jay

Sue the bad person in small claims court.

Of course, if he has no money, then you will get none either.

He does have 4 months severance, his company has one of the best severance packages...he has been doing this for all his previous roomates as well. Can I discuss my case with an attorney who specializes in civil rights or what kind of speciality should I be looking for the attorney? Please suggest

A: Civil rights? No; this has to do with money. You don't need a lawyer to sue in small claims.

After the judgement is passed, how do I collect the money from him, small claims court won't collect the judgement for me, also I have to pay a fee of $85, how can I collect that fee?
