What is the name of your state? Georgia
My grandmother died in 02. My father who was named as executor, and sole benefeciary did not have the will probated. He died in 07. My brother and I had the will probated this year. Does the original intent or wishes of said will still hold up? In other words, from granny to dad to us? Or does it mean to all grandchildren now?

What assets are involved? Was the estate of your grandmother too small to go through probate?

Did your father also leave a will that was probated in court? Your question is too complex for the message board, and you need to be consulting an attorney to get the proper interpretation.

What could have been a possible reason for your father's not getting his mother's will probated?
