The state is In. Dh supposedly owes back TANF to the state for his child, and they have sent a letter of interception. Quick question-we changed our exemptions so that we get no federal return except the EIC. Did this LONG before we found out about the TANF obligation, so we will not be rec. a tax return other than out EIC this year. I have been told that the IRS cannot attach an intercept to EIC. I have not asked my tax preparer yet, as he has been out fo the office. If there is any finite answer, I would appreciate, not that it matters, we still need to file!!
