What is the name of your state? Florida

Hello,

According to Florida Law, is it possible for my sister to buy a house in her name and place it in residential usufruct (lifetime) for me?

How to go about it? Or, if the feasibility of this choice is inexistent, what is the best alternative, tax-wise and costwise?

If possible, I would like to do this through the process of Usufruct, as stated above.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Although I knew the word was good legal jargon of some sort, I had to go to Black's to recall was meant.

I'm not sure if you can or not, but is sister is going to give a gift of some sort, why doesn't she just buy the house and rent it to you at below market rates? (Hint: Try to make the rate a little less than $1,000 less than the fair market rate per month.)
