When there are heirs, and there are assets, at the end of the "tea party", do the heirs have to sign any agreement or other document signifiying that they are in agreement with the the liquidation and distribution?

At what point does one see documentation of all the assets, disposal of those assets, and accounting?

And if things look improper, at what point do one or more of the heirs wave the red flag and say "Hey, administrators, I can't go along with this?"
