A very good friend of mine is in a very sticky situation. In early 1999 he was caught for posession with intent to sell of various substances, including methamphetamine, LSD, MDMA and GHB. Six months later he missed a court date, and the judge wanted to lock him up for the duration of the court proceedings, which would have been a month or two, and if convicted the 10-20 years of his sentence as well. He skipped out on his sentence, and is now a fugitive. He is a legal US citizen through marriage, but originally from south america, but wasn't sure if he were going to be deported to serve his sentence there. NO REHAB was offered him, they said he was a dealer, not a user, but I can vouch for his having a dependency on meth. He is considering turning himself in, but wants to know what is most likely to happen, and would like to request rehab. He says that he heard of a guy that had the same sentence as he did, and had been a fugitive as well, then turned himself in, and served 90 days, and went to a rehab program. Is this possible?
