can arbitration (or mediation) (?) be used in a paternity case? I'm in appeals right now for appealing judges decision on child support award. If my case gets remanded back to district court, can I just take a "short-cut" and serve NCP and respondent demand letter that states what I want (guidelines, atty fees, arrears, imputed..) or I will takes steps to proceed with civil and/or criminal lawsuit (child support fraud), so that I don't have to go thru any more court hearings and all of this stress?

All I know is that if I go back to district court, it's going to cost me another $5,000.00 dollars, right now I'm at $13,000.00 Can arbitration or whatever be used instead? If I do have to continue with district, won't I have to go thru another civil lawsuit to recover my atty fee's because of bad faith litigation? I'm just depressed...more court, it's already been three years worth...
