I use to run a travel agency and a client had registered for gift registry to allow friends and family to purchase ift certificates for her honeymoon. This was in 2006. We closed the agency in 2007. Now in 2008 she filed a small claims suit to have these 2 year old gift certificates refunded. Not only that, but I am not the owner of that business. Is she entitled to compensation when she was not the purchaser of the certificates and we had closed almost a year ago?
