My question is in regards to a builder and a home owner. Home owner hires the builder to remodel there basement, and to constuct a new pole barn, there were two different contracts signed and work began on both projects, after the basement work was half way completed the home owner just fired the builder because the home owner was having second thoughts if they got in over there heads with the cost of every thing. Can in the state of Michigan this be legal to do after contracts were signed and work began? Let me just add the home owner is asking for all there money back, which is only $2,720.00 and $1000.00 of that went to the excavator who did the dirt work for the pole barn, and the bal. had already been used for work so far complete in the basement. What are the laws in the state of Michigan for breach of contract? Thank you for your time.
