My boyfriend's daughter was recently involved in an assault and battery case. The parents are suing or are going to sue for medical damages, but his ex-wife wants to sign custody of the minor to us. Does this mean that we would now be responsible and be sued, or would she still be the responsible one since she had custody when this incident took place? Any help would be appreciated.
