Dear sir:

I'm a US citizen and my wife is a legal resident of Florida, we have agreed to file for divorce.
As I'm also bi-national ( Ecuadorian citizen) and lived abroad most of my life, I own a property in Ecuador that was built on a lot I inherited from my mother while I was married.
The actual construction of the house was financed also by the sale of other lots I inherited in the same location and at the same time.
My wife did not contribute in any way to the above and my income did not eather as it was always marginal. I have legal papers which can prove the bequest.
The afforementioned house is going to be sold and as such I'd like to know my stance regarding " Equitable distribution of marital assets "and Florida law statutes Chapter 61
61.075 , (b)Nonmarital assets and liabilities" (2 and 3),
I'd like to know if my property or and it's sale would be considered a NON MARITAL ASSET for divorce purposes.

Thank you

I would fight for it to be considered separate property, since it was financed by the inheritance.
