What is the time limit in Pennsylvania on the executor to close the affairs of a will. All debts are paid and the balance of funds due to the beneficiaries in equal amounts has not been totally distributed. The beneficiary who is a co-executor has access to the checks from the beneficiary checking account, and will not speak to any of the beneficiaries or to the non-beneficiary co-executor. The will was read in December 1998.

Get a lawyer representing YOU to contact the Executor -- the executor likely will speak to counsel as the next step is to ask for the court to inquire.

There is no hard and fast rule, but it usually can take until shortly after the IRS closes the estate tax return.

DEAR RFREED:

If you were to visit the http://www.lawguru.com website (similar to this message board) and post that question on the ASK A QUESTION board, you might get a response from an attorney in the Pennsylvania area.

If you will send me an e-mail message to the e-mail address shown below, I can send you the name of a Pennsylvania attorney who could possibly assist you.
