I am a Special Education teacher. A parent of one of my students has accused me of sexually assualting her child. Once in writing and once in front of an IEP team. I have many adult and student witnesses that nothing like that hapened. Do I have grounds to take this person to court for slander, defamation of character, etc.

Q: Do I have grounds to take this person to court for slander, defamation of character, etc.

A: Yes. Set aside $30K (if cheap) and three years (if quick). Don't expect the lawsuit to change anything.
