What is the name of your state?KY. friend's father died in 2006, he is the only child he had. He is aware that he owned a home and had bank accounts etc. he is of legal age but still very young and does not know about handling estate. his grandparents came down when his dad died and had him to get the body processed as there was no will or any instructions. what is the statute of limitations on the bills due. there is a belief that the grandparents may have gone into the bank account and what not. we know that the house he was buying is still there no one has claimed it. what does he need to do and does he have to hire a lawyer and put it in probate before he can see what assets he left that would pay for any bills due.
