What is the name of your state? New York

I am trying to find out if a will is still in probate and I would like to know how and when I can find out the contents of that will and whether the assets were disbursed and to whom? It is a relative of mine.

You will need to know the name of the relative and the city and state where they died as well as the date of death. Then figure out the name of the county for that city and then contact the surrogate court/probate court for the county. Do a check online for the county and sometimes the court records are available online.
