When a person has been given a 15 day jail sentence and a $500.00 fine for contempt of court (divorce where a spouse is accused of destroying property) can the accused be picked up and charged with something else that supposedly happened during the marriage?

Many more facts are needed. And if you're discussing criminal charges, you'd be better served to post this in the criminal law forum.

The statute of limitations for the particular crime committed would be one of those relevant facts.
